PATTERN: WHIMSEY VEST

Moss stitch, cables, diamonds, twists and turns: this vest shows off the Targhee 2-ply yarn at its best. With both fronts and the back all having different patterns, there is enough going on to keep you interested in the pattern. If you are a beginner with a good knitting buddy, all of the techniques are easy enough if you have a little help. And you will gain a tremendous amount of knitting knowledge and confidence in your knitting skills.
Finished size: To fit Small (34"-36") , Medium (38"-40") and Large (42"-44").
Yarn: Sweet Grass Wool 2 ply (pictures are Natural Blend - light) 220 yds/4 oz skein (Small-Medium 4 skeins, Large 5 skeins).
Needles: US 6 and 7, or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 4.5 stitches and 6.5 rows per inch, Stockinette Stitch #7 needles.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 3 stitch markers, cable needle.
Skills needed: cable, chart reading.

PATTERN: SNAKE IN THE (SWEET) GRASS

Double moss stitch, broken ribbing, and a snaky sinuous cable: these fingerless mittens beautifully showcase the squishiness of the Targhee fiber from Sweet Grass Wool. The strong, simple design appeals to men, and the pattern was originally designed as a man's mitt, but it is certainly suitable for women as well.
Finished size: To fit 6-6.5 (7-7.5, 8-8.5)" palm circumference.
Yarn: Sweet Grass Lace, 100% wool, single ply, 460 yds/4 oz skein.
Needles: US 2/2.75mm, or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 28 sts and 40 rows = 4" in St st in the rnd.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 3 stitchmarkers, cable needle.
Skills needed: Knitting in the round (method not specified), cable, chart reading.
